All of the land directly around our Pond has always just been pasture grass. This year, the landowner and I made a deal, where he would plant it in Oats (and harvest it as usual)(hopefully with a little "spillage" . It should make for some good field shooting in addition to the birds that come to the pond. Pic # 1 is from Google Earth. The Oats are in the field inside of the fence lines you can see. The ends of the white line are our blind locations. Pic # 2 is a view of the field out of one of the blind locations. I took this pic at the blind location at the Right end of the white line.

One more view. The North end of the pond is on the left side of the pic. The field was only about half tilled when this pic was taken. I forgot to mention, that this pond is fed by a warm water spring --- so, it never freezes, even at 10 below
