anyone have any exprience with wirsbo floor heat, putting up a 40x100 shop/dog kennel,,,lol Was curious to what vehicles you use to run, gas,corn,wood,elec???? Also price on coupling tools???? and zones per sq/ft I think 3/4" pipe... 6 inch concrete..... Any info greatly appreciated...

I thought that I read where Purina tried it, but said that it caused the kennel to smell. Just what I heard.... I'd love to go with that type of system in any other environment though. I've heard that they are real nice. Jay

Killer We've put it in a couple of houses/garages I've worked on...its nice because you can zone it..I've only seen it with natural gas boiler system..but I would guess a wood fired boiler..or electric would work as well... I would talk to a pro that installs it for a living..someone that has done lots of them..cuz it can be tricky..the styrofoam under the wirsbo must be installed correctly..as well as the liquid in the system (the anti freeze)...and make yourself a really good map of the layout....someday you may want to put some walls up and it really sucks when you shoot a nail or put an anchor thru the pipe... Only other negitive I've seen with it is we worked on a big house with a formal dining room...ie it had a big dinning room table...the homeowners stated that their feet were nice and warm..but the table stopped the heat from rising and so the rest of the room seemed cold...

Stuw, Ya, I've heard of people using 38" gas line and garden hose,, all kinds on garbage. But I want to do this right the first time. I think I'm going to HDD my own gas line out to easement and have a separate meter. Wood burning I ave thought would be ok, but with a self contained system, I'm not going to babysit this thing all winter, you know what I mean,,,, I don't want to have to be around just to keep it from freezing,... I was unaware or styrofoam???? layer.. Seen a web page on PEX and their layout, but have not seen Wirsbo,
