Has anyone hunted around Wall, South Dakota? I have a connection here in Washington that has property in Wall and I am wondering if it is worth the journey. It is around 20hrs drive for me, so I don't want to waste a trip to somewhere that doesn't have pheasants.
I know it is a long time until next season, but it is the right time to start planning for the next big hunt.
Hopefully someone is familiar with the area and can tell me if it is worth going to.

I've never hunted west river (west of the Missouri river), but the Wall area isnt typically known for good pheasant numbers. Hopefully someone can give you more first hand knowledge.

We have plenty of poor pheasant numbers here in Washington. I'm hoping for better news on the Wall area.
Thank you for the response Top Dog.

Flyhity,
I live in Rapid City about 40 miles West of Wall.  I can tell you there are not many birds in that area.  You have to go further East to get the good numbers that would make it worth your while for a 20hr drive.

South Dakota Division of Willdlife says the density is less than 20 per sq. mile, rated as very low.

Thank you all for your information. 20hr drive for poor bird numbers does not sound like a god idea.

20 birds per mile. Shoot, I would be happy with 10 birds per mile in Colorado Hunting a lot of places in Colorado is like walking 10 miles and seeing 4 birds and 3 are hens
