What do you do when it is 16 degrees outside with ice and a light snow on the ground?  You go blue quail hunting!!!

With the cold and snow the blues acted more like bobs than blues.  They did not run and once flushed, they would stick right where they went down.  We had to pull off the covies because we did not want to take too many with the numbers down like they are this year.

We managed to drop 19 birds on Saturday.  Most were blues with a few bobs thrown in for good measure.  All in all it was a fun day with very good dog work.

Not bad, Shawn!

I would love to be out upland hunting, but the 6+ inches of rain this weekend has the birds in lifeboats.  Plenty of places for a duck though.   And Logan killed how many?

It got to +16 here today --- we thought we were basking in some dandy nice warm weather.
Casey made a bunch of water retrieves this last weekend with an air temp of minus 1.
