Pi and I had a wonderful hunt on the upper CO River Saturday a.m. Light snow, cloudy with ducks and geese flying everywhere and using the river.

Spend the night to do it again Sunday a.m. and managed to scrape out a couple of mallards and 1 woodie…Sunday was nothing like Saturday, along with the full moon the sun was out shinning bright with not much of anything flying. Weather makes all the difference in the world. This was our first hunt in the Pacific Flyway on the other side of the mountain. I suspect it won't be our last.

You wouldn't want me to adopt you Kwik....we've been sitting at home for the previous 4 weeks. Hunted the 5 weeks prior to that with limited success at best so this was a nice reward.

You can't see the snow covered high peaks because of the clouds. It is a beautiful area and a nice place to spend the day. Should have taken my fly rod along, trout were rising all afternoon long

Trout, that picture is certainly a "memory captured". Beautiful country us midwestern boys don't get to see that often.

That is truely a "postcard". In Ks, even in the "Flint Hills" the moon angle still determines which way the "water" runs ! HA.
Now with a handle like Trout Bum it is hard to believe that you don't at least have a pocket fisherman! But ya know it is pain fishing with a BlackDog since they want to retrieve on every cast.

Thanks guys, I thought the pics turned out pretty good, the hunt was even better.....sometimes you just get lucky.

Left the fly rod at home on purpose and could have grabbed one from our cabin 50 miles up the road where I spent the night. No pocket fisherman, but I do always have two bags packed. One for fishing and one for hunting

Pi enjoys fishing and is pretty good at watching the fly and the take. Trouble comes when the fish is on, she figures it's her job to help bring it in.

Heading the opposite direction tonight to squeeze in a hunt before flying out of town Saturday afernoon on business. We've got some weather coming in and I've become a storm chaser.......sure is nice to have an understanding wife!
