Most of the bucks here in N.E. WA still have velvet -- some are just beginning to lose it.

I just have a feeling you will get him this year.
Wonder how he'll taste -- even if he is so strong that you will need to make sausage, the mount is going to be incredible.

I chased one like that for about 4 years...everyone called him the cemetary buck...cuz when hunting season opened up...the only place you saw him was in the cemetary...(where nobody could hunt)....smart old bugger..two years ago....a 16 yo kid got him on his first day of deer hunting ever....talk about beginers luck..my stand was about a 1/2 mile away....and heard the shot......the buck had 16 scoreable points....and green scored in the mid 170's.......I still dream about that buck..

I hope you get him this year steve...good luck

Incredible! I would love just to see that guy in the woods, OK, I'd like to wing an arrow through his ribcage, but just seeing him would be cool as well.

Its hard to tell from the newest pic..but my guess is thats a different buck...the rack on the 1st buck is beyond its ears....my guess is he's about 19 inches wide..and the rack seems to be alot taller....latest pic the rack is just to the outside of his ears...making him about 17 inch inside spread...in either case...I would be letting an arrow fly at either one if I had the chance...great looking deer...I'm jealous as hell...

Around here....the bucks have already chased most the fawns off the does....Bachelor groups have broken up...and I'm starting to find scrapes..but no rubs yet...yesterday morning I had a doe with two fawn that looked like they were only about a month old...very small...still had their red hair and spots....I doubt they'll make it thru the winter....havent seen a shooter buck yet either....but I still have plenty of time...

I don't know Steve, I think that I'd hold off for the first deer.....

My TN friends are having fits about these pics! They don't grow them that large down here, and they get pissed when I tell them that I go back home to deer like that.

I do believe they are 2 different animals. The 1st one seems a good bit taller in the rack. I got word that a 74yr old lady 2 farms away from me got a huge 16pt buck by bow - so i am thinking that 1st one may have been nailed The second one looks like the guy that was hanging around last year that had half his rack broken off. It would make sense that he came back and claimed the area-he was there very regularly last year and I couild have taken him but did not because the rack was half gone-so hopefully he will not break it this year. Driving down on Sat I saw a buck harrassing a doe along the road-looks like things are starting to pick up. Also seeing the beginning of scrapes- no rubs-but i have been staying out of the area as much as possible.

I have been holding out to get something bigger then this one hanging in the office. That 1st one would certainly do it-not sure about the second one-but it has been 3 years since I took one so I may be dropping my standards.
