| We have a choice of 3 places. Pierre (sp), Mitchell, and anohter place Vic told us about. Just have to narrow it down. I hope to get that done it the next few weeks so we can get hotels, maps, and whatever else is needed. Come on, it should be good times. |

| one thing to note , If we hunt the GPA areas we have to use steel shot there!! You can also buy your license online, And you are right cowdog if we stay in mitchell we are going to travel to get to thr areas!! Pierre has a lower phez population but not bad! we could go north of mitchell and stay!!! Kevin |

| Mitchell itself does not have a lot of public land but the areas around it make up for it. Pierre has limited accomdations and is provinng difficult to find. I asked for everyone's input but only Kevin has particpated. Help out and we are all on board. Kevin, as for steel shot, I should have plenty for two or three people. However, I recomend Kent Faststeel. It is not that much $$ and hits hard. I also, spoke with Jerry and he will let me know when he gets back into town. Scott is also thinking about it. I am just waiting to hear a number of people so that I can find a place. South Dakota is reporting a record number of birds so we should be good no matter where we go. |

Im not really in on this yet but its a possibility. Im just saying that from all my study of the walkin atlas that mitchell would not be at the top of my list of places to stay. Not that I have a real idea of where exactly to go. The further north you go the more public but Im sure more hunters as well. Seems to me a guy would want to find a comprimise some where.
Or a bunch of private. |

Okay, here is the deal with Mitchell and Pierre. Yes, Pierre has better Walk In access. However, you have to look at all public lands. There are state,federal, and game production lands that are public. I checked all the counties that suround the both countie and after looking at that, it was about even. Mitchell (~ 8 hours) is about the furthest we can go on a nights drive. Pierre is a bit closer if there is a better spot with in 8 hours, please help and let me know. Any where I go is fine but people need to make up their mind. I want as many people go as possible but if you information that will help, please provide it. Just two add, I am not stuck on either of these spots if there is something better. I have gotten great reports about both of these spots and they seemed accomidating. If any one want to call me about this, please do so.
