Of course, Gary. But what experts have written in books can help one become aware of possible techniques and form a clearer picture in his mind of what he wants the final product to look like. Without these no amount of fumbling around trying to train is going to be of much help. One who wants to hunt over the dog might be better off just going hunting with the dog and learning from it.
