As a few of you know...my pup is at the trainers for a couple of months...and he is having a  problem with her being very nervous while on the table....

This is my fault....and I know it.....its something I never worked on while she was a pup...

I was too busy tossing bumpers and doing the walk to even think of it...I had posted part of this on the "other" forum....and got some good responses back...

My advise to you folks with pups.....get them up on a table...brush them...play with them..give them treats so they like being up on a table....someday when you go to ff....it will make a world of differnce....learn from my mistake...I know I'm going to do this different with my next pup....stu

Only if you force fetch on a table. If you don't, it isn't ever necessary.

I can see using a table if you are a pro and FF lots of dogs, but for a person that only FFs a dog now and then, I don't see that tables usually have much benefit. If you have a bad back, have the dog on the ground and you sit on a bucket.

It's called blackmail, pure and simple. I'll stoop to anything for just a bit of notoriety!

There are more reason to use the table than to FF,What about vet visits ? or examining your dog at home, I feed my dogs on the top of their dog houses,so when I come down the row with a bucket, they all jump  on the roofs, their at eye level, can check their ears, teeth, muscle mass, paws etc...without bending over,Plus it looks cool to see 'em up there a waggin......

I went the "whole nine yards" and built a full-sized FF table for Taffey. There are some neat things you can do on one. Then again most of those can be done on the ground. I gave it away later.

Kooly and Daisy have not been exposed to a force fetch table. Can't say it has made any difference. Everything you expose your pup to has an impact, but as time goes on, the sheer number of events decreases the effect of any single one plus the FF table can be replaced with equally effective alternatives.

On a side note, if you have never used one, I would suggest trying it.  Valuable experience is gained by doing.......even if only to find out.
