With all this "neat" weather there's not much to do.......so I'd like to have a few things clarified. 
How does "It's raining cats and dogs." apply to heavy rainfall? Where did this idea come from?
and
How about "There is more than one way to skin a cat." Can anyone tell me two different ways to skin a cat? I mean....do you know of two people that have actually skinned cats and do it differently?
and
Why do they call the device in my living room a "vacuum cleaner"? I'm sorry, but by definition there is nothing in a vacuum.

| Why do they park in the driveway and drive in the parkway? Why do the call them apartments when they are close together? The phrase is supposed to have originated in England in the 17th century when city streets were filthy and heavy rain would occasionally carry along dead animals.

Not to be a buzz kill or anything....... But, the question "Why?" sometimes should never be asked. I've seen most of these questions before, and I too, don't have the answers. Comical as they are I'm sure many times in our lives we've had to ask that question of ourselves.
For twenty four years and four months I've had the ask that very question in my sometimes sleep. While crabing in the Bearing Sea, in conditions of biblical status, our boat was going down, two stayed with the boat and three of us dawned our life suits and were washed over board. After what seemed like ten lifetimes I was lifted into a Coast Guard helicopter, when I asked about my friends, I wasn't given an awswer, I just knew.
Why me? Sleep with that the rest of your life.
Sense, I have asked the question "Why?" very few times......... It just is.

| Wow Big R, What a Job. That job would be to me the same as bull riding, Aint no way!!! You would have to be absolutly fearless to take on the Bearing sea for crabs!! I have watched that on TV And asked why if you didnt have to would you put your life indanger like that for some money? So it has to be more for the rush I would think? That is very sad that happened to you, But fortunate in that God wasnt through with you yet, So obviously you have a heck of a testimomy to share with others to help them out!!! |
