Just moved to SD and my lab has had her first points.  She has been real easy to train and got her Sr. title at age 3.  Not much exposure to upland flushing but we trained for it none the less.  This has been our first season here in SD.  She flushed all season till the last few birds of the last hunt.  She POINTED!! Coool! Three times in a row! Coool! Problem is I have never trained pointers, only retriever/flushers, how do I help her along with the points if she decides to do it again?  Any do's or Don'ts?  Thanks for the help and have a great Chirstmas and New Year.

The less you mess with her the better.....right now. Wait longer, quietly walk wide around the dog and come easy (towards her) to flush a bird.

I had two Labs sometime back that went to pointing later and I didn't do anything except just the above. We did fine. I would recommend getting Knutson's new book on the pointing Lab. It will give you some exciting things to think about and maybe even work at. Enjoy the pointing!
