I just recieved my non-commercial wildlife park license today from the Colorado Division of Wildlife. This is a lifetime permit that will allow me to raise and release larger quantities of quail during non-hunting months for training purposes! My johnny house is built (thanks Hooligan!) and is now just waiting to be filled. My permit only allows for quail right now, but I hope to expand it in the future to allow for other types of upland game (I can still use other species for training, but not in larger quantities). I also contacted the US Farm Service Association regarding turning some of my land into a wildlife preserve. They are coming out in a week or so to walk the land and discuss certain programs that I may qualify for funding for! I'm excited to begin the process of creating prime training grounds in my own backyard. Thanks to all of you that offered advice and help. I really appreciate it. Rob

Just be careful the programs you get into do not require you to open your land up to public hunting.

I'll do that Steve. I'm not sure what the requirements will be yet, but I'll see.
