It seems that Gun Club Labradors is having a bit of a problem with their email, so I'll post this here for them and everyone else to see.
When I visited the Knutson's, I noticed that they pipe some nice soothing/calming music into their kennels. I mentioned that there was some recent research regarding "dog laughter" and it's calming effect when played to barky/yappy dogs in a multi-dog kennel environment.
I guess the easiest way to check this out is to do a Google.com search. Use "dog laughter" as your search words. There are a number of websites with information about these very cool findings.
If I had a multi-dog kennel, I'd get a tape of "dog laughter" and wire it (actually have somebody else wire it up) so that there was an audio sensor that would turn the tape on whenever the dogs got to a certain level of noise.
The Spokane Animal Shelter is using "dog laughter" and the dogs quiet right down and calm down when it is turned on. Pretty Cool.
