People on some other forums are reporting that they sent theirs in the first day and are just starting to be notified of results now. I imagine the lab is flooded with tests-which I think is great-but I would expect the results to take a little longer at first just due to volume. My dog was tested in the trials, so I will wait to send another blood sample in to get an official number (because I already know the results) until things calm down a little bit.

John,
Great results to date!  You have some nice dogs.  How do you like your Chance X Reign pup?  I really liked that breeding, but haven't heard too much about the pups.

Pat , as you know I have been working with PL's for a long time and take pride in honestly evaluating pups. Dyna has very strong retrieving and pointing instincts, a high desire to please and she's one of the top one or two birdiest pups I've ever worked with. Not many come along like her. I sent Jennifer another deposit last spring.

Recieved the results for #5

Lindell's Prairie Rattler - " Snake" - clear
Kroeger's Snappin Gator X Shooter's Cattail Summer

I hope others will post their results good or bad, it will help everyone make better decisions.

John,
Dyna seems like a very nice pup, I will watch and see how she matures. If you decide to breed her let me know. I may talk with Jennifer as well. I am not looking for a pup till the end of 2009 or early 2010, but have been known to jump early for the right breeding.

Good news on Snake as well. Another nicely bred hound.

Anyone else want to share their results?
Hopefully lets of PL folks are getting their dogs tested.
I would love to see every sire and dam tested prior to breeding.

Both Maverick (Bearpoint's Top Gun) and Cricket (PRG's Hunter's Lullaby) participated in the clinical study portion of the test and both came back clear. I do not see any reason to get them tested again, so that's about as 'official' as their results will get.

I plan to test my dogs, but its going to be a slow process and I plan to have them all tested by the end of the year.

I will post my results when I get them..........clear and carrier

I received my results a short time ago and contacted the owner of FC AFC Taylorlab Downtown Dustybrown. Missy Heard said that she was anxiously waiting for Dusty's EIC test results and whatever they turned out to be would be posted on the forums, noted in his Website and submitted to the new OFA EIC list.

Dan and Missy Heard are the first (I think) of any high profile stud to go public with the results. As was posted on the RTF forum tonight......Dusty is a carrier.

I just want to repeat......Missy, you and Dan have been "first class" with me ever since we talked about breeding Taffey. After hearing from you a few weeks ago, I held off posting my EIC results because of what you said you were going to to. Thanks for confirming what I have always thought.

Kwick Kooly Dew It Allstar SH --- carrier VDL Accession # D08-039701
(NFC AFC Dewey’s Drake of Moon Rivers X Maxine’s Midnight Pursuit JH)

MPR HRCH UH Kwick Taffey of Joemac’s MH --- clear VDL Accession # D08-039702
(MHR GMPR Rik's Risky Raider MH X CP JoeMac's Dakota Rose)

Kwick Daisy’s Spirit Keeper SH --- clear VDL Accession # D08-039703
(FC AFC Taylorlab Downtown Dusty Brown X MPR HRCH UH Kwick Taffey of Joemac’s MH

Kwick Draw McGraw --- carrier VDL Accession # D08-039704
(FC AFC Taylorlab Downtown Dusty Brown X MPR HRCH UH Kwick Taffey of Joemac’s MH

My two "Dustbuckets" are definitely keepers, and I am sure glad Taffey was clear.

Unfortunately I cannot say the same....(and I also cant get the quote function to work correctly!!)....I was treated 100% differently after the repeat breeding of Dusty x Birdie.

Jim,
Thanks for posting up your results.
I had a suspicion as I had heard of one other Dusty pup being a carrier....
Thankfully Taffey is not a carrier, or the results would have broken the hearts of some owners when the first collapse occured.  I remember going from the highest high to the lowest low when Shelby collapsed in the upland field at 7 months.....

LeRoy,
You know from our conversations that this whole EIC thing gets emotional very quickly. Luckily for all of us there is a test to confirm what we couldn't prove in the past..... I am sure that they are not the only people that have acted out of character at times. I have regrets on how I have handled certain things in the past as well. The positive is that they did get Dusty tested and went public with the results so that responsible breedings can take place. None of us argue the quality of Dusty, or the pups he throws. I would take one in a heartbeat bred to a quality female like Birdie, or Taffey. I appreciate the "risk" they have taken by going public vs keeping the results quiet and continuing to breed...... We have discussed that as well.
So from my point of view their recent actions speak volumes to me. It doesn't negate the conflict that you had with them, but it does show that they do care about the breed and producing healthy pups.

EIC is a nasty thing and with only a few results in Doc's prediction is looking more accurate all the time.....
Pat

I agree with you Pat, but an apology goes a long way also.

Its a bit ironic that I avoid one EIC carrier and then breed to a different one. Bad karma?????

LeRoy,
I agree that an apology would go along way. If the whole thing could be redone I am sure that everyone might deal with it a little different knowing what we know now....

My personal thought is you upgraded to a better stud, who unfortunatley was also a carrier... But hopefully Birdie is clear or you would have heard of affecteds by now with either breeding.... So in the long run Good Karma???????

You made the best decision you could at the time, you should be happy with that. You produced some very nice pups out of each breeding with happy owners.

The best thing is that now you have another tool in the belt to use to make better breeding decisions!
Have a good one and don't look back. Look forward to continuing to produce awesome pups.
