Duck Dog Challenge Coming Up ! Just a heads up so you can start making plans : It's confirmed, there will be a Duck Dog Challenge at Burlington Ranch in Chewelah WA on July 19 & 20. Entry forms should be up on the DDC website (currently being redesigned) within 7 to 10 days, but you can go there now to read the rules etc. http://www.nationalduckdogchallenge.com/9401.html I'll let everyone know when the entry forms are up. Should be a lot of fun ! .

Yup. The rubber duckie (I think it's called a Bango) has a baloon of some sort hooked to it. If you shoot & hit the "bird", the baloon blows up and releases a "cloud" to get the dog's attention. This seems to be a "real" hunting situation double. The Bangos are launched almost at the same time, so the dog has to be able to mark and change it's gaze very rapidly. It's not like the Test scenario = Bird goes up, bird goes down -- count to three and the next bird goes up and down. .
