I would like to send out a huge thank-you to Mike with K and L kennels on passing Liz in the master pointing test. I gave him Liz in a confused stage four weeks ago and he straigtened out my mistakes on bird work. Thanks Mike I know you worked hard to get her ready. Now hopefully I can pass Liz both days in an AKC double master next weekend and finish her AKC master title and then on to quals. Mike not only passed Liz but his other two master dogs also. Nice job

A big thanks to all that stepped up to help Thank you to our judges We had fun. Omega Farms has invited us back. We all behaved ourselves. We had some pretty hot weather but the dogs where kept cool with lots of water. The master upland field had a good breeze to help too. I know that Wendell took some pics at the awards, so maybe he will post them for us. A big congradultions to all that passed. I know others came really close to getting there, so stay in the game. ZEKE THE WONDER DOG GOT HIS MASTER PASS. Congrads to Mike.

What a great day. My first experience with working to pull one of these together.

Holly - thanks to you from everyone for all the effort you put forth on this. You carried a lot of load on this and we all appreciate it.

Dale/Frank and crew put forth a lot of personal resources up there locally and were critical to making this happen. This while (very successfully) getting 10 dogs ready for this test. I imagine there are a few people in Dundee sleeping in this morning. We got back to Indy at 4:00 am and I would be sleeping in also but Wendell still gets up with the chickens.

I was paranoid that we were going to have green thick cover and unbearable heat. I lost the most sleep Friday night afraid that the coons (which seemed to be everywhere) were going to raid our birds! We put up our best "Macgiver" defense shield and they were all there, untouched, in the morning.

We found some very nice thinner cover areas to run upland and the Omega property is a retriever trial dream location. Heat was an issue and ulitmately hit close to 90 late in the day when both stakes were on water. However, we had occasional cloud cover and a stiff constant wind that produced very good scenting conditions from about 10am to 2pm.

We had a bunch of dogs that were ready for this test and good conditions to run it in.  As a result 10 of 16 CP dogs passed, 2 of 2 APR, and 7 of 9 MPR.  In the CP field we had dogs consistently getting on birds all day and doing good work.  Thanks Jon Thomas for coming up to judge CP with me.  I had a blast working with you.

We were thin on help in this new test venue and some people really pulled together to help.  New handlers Mark Epley and Kevin Schram were working above and beyond the call of duty.  Steve Lewis and his two boys were awesome help.  Mike our bird planter and Eric our gunner were a dream to work with.

We had 7 brand new handlers in CP that showed up with nice dogs and had a good deal of success.  They were Mark Epley, Josh Henley, Steve Lewis, Kevin Schram, David Lloyd, Joe Dickerson, and John Pottcutter.  Jon and I really enjoyed working with you and we hope to see you all again.

I will leave the master/apr comments to others that were over there but I understand from talking to Wendell and Burks that they really had some good dog work.  Both land and water had some meat to them and the dogs did great.   We will all need to wait a while for setup pics since I found a very nice Nikon camera inthe back seat of my pickup this morning (Wendell).  Its almost like these master hanlders had prepared for a few tests before .  Great job and congrats to Dale, Mike Letteu, John Cart, ZEKE the wonder Dog!!! , and Mark with that BROWN butt-kicking dog setting the standard!

Great experience, great people, great weekend.  That is what this is all about.

Congrats to all the dogs and handlers. Dale had a great day 9 out of 10 in three different levels is outstanding. Just feel bad that the perfect day was spoiled because of my lack of doing training with Chaos on water marks and controlling her at the line....she was just too darn jacked up and didnt sit still and tried to get off the lead by turning her head and she missed the mark. I heard she looked pretty darn good in the upland field though..........pointed all 3 birds. I've been looking long and hard for a good chocolate dog. I'm currently on #4 and this ones a keeper. Thanks Dale for your hard work.

HRKS Dale Swiderski, 2 for 2 Master passes, 1 for 1 Advance pass, and 6 for 7 Certified passes. Boy you sure had a great and busy day. To take Tig, a rusty old GMPR, with only two weeks of training and pass a master test is unbelievable. You and Frank had the week from hell and it paid off. Congats to you and all who passed, Jon Cart, Mike (K and L), Mike Garver, just to name a few.

Special thanks to APLA judges Wendell Wright, Jeff Burks and Jon Thomas.
Great job to secretary Holly Cart and Chair Bruce Smiley who also Judged.
OMega farms who have the best grounds I have seen to date.

Congrats to all who passed including Jon Cart with his Banks dog who I have had the pleasure to train with and Mike L. From K and L kennels who smacked the Master test with 3 dogs.
Thanks to all of those who trusted us to run your dogs in this test.

And of course to our Friend, Paco aka Dog father, Clint or just plain Frank. You know what I mean. Paco helped trian with us the week leading up to the test as we prepared for it, we couldn't of done it with out him. It was a pleasure to watch Gator work all week..a trully exceptional animal.

Also we need to thank Kimble for all the help he gave Holly and I.

AND, big thanks to our master judges - Jeff Burks and (our head judge) Wendell.

Wendell is the man. He came up to judge in spite of the fact that he was recovering from pneumonia. Then he was stuck detouring the flood-hit areas of west-central Indiana on his way home this morning and turned a 4 hour trip into a 9 hour trip. Lots of effort for one day judging gig.

A very good test on outstanding grounds, all the already mentioned deserve an atta boy,and add Mike,Mike, and Bob,who planted birds, and manned wingers for Master and Advanced.Bob is the training partner from heaven, and we should all be so lucky.I came close to tears a couple times on Saturday. As some are aware, that I stay back and do play by play as Mark runs Duke(let him go/hit him with the whistle,,,etc, etc),and wow,What can I say,It was quite a show from KING DUKE,,,,Mike and Zeke are close to me also, and it was a treat to see that smile on Mikes face. I would not have predicted that 9 of 10 dogs that ran under Dale, would make it as the week was full of sweat and beers(I MEAN TEARS).Learned alot from working with you,my friend.Your faith in my dog gets my emotions again.Rondo is sleeping peacefully next to me.Let's keep rolling. Team Run and Gun,,,,I Likes it.......Garver mkt/dir.get on it.........Paco
