The tics are just rampant here the last couple of days.  I've been doing the walk with my pup everyday and what great results.  But the last couple of days she's been picking up 20-30 tics in our 30 minute walk.  She's had shots for lyme disease and I use the liquid stuff from the vet every month, but it still seems like a lot of tics she is being exposed to. Not to mention that she's a part time house dog and I'm worried about how many are coming into the house.  The vet doesn't recommend a tic collar. Does some one have some advice on tic control?

I have fairly good luck with frontline plus. It does seem to lose potency the last week(4th). The dogs still get ticks just not as many.

Does Frontline Plus actually keep ticks off your dog, or does it kill them when they are on your dog?

From my experience, Frontline Plus doesn't really "repel" ticks, I don't think any of the top spot stuff really does, the ticks can attach, then it kills the ticks, so you still need to check for dead/live ticks, especially ears, head & neck. Keeping the dog bedding area clean and simple and brushing helps too. Shake/check your clothes and shoes.
