WA had it's first Bird Dog Challenge of the year last weekend. On May 3rd, it was : 1st : Pointer 2nd : Pointer 3rd : Weim (The two PL's that ran were respectable, but not good enough to place) On May 4th, it was : 1st : Pointer (which was the 2nd place dog from Saturday) 2nd : Pointer (which was the 1st place dog from Saturday) 3rd : GSP (Once again, the two PL's that ran were respectable, but not good enough to place) Those two Pointers were truly impressive. Very fast, covered the field well and would hold point forever. Their main fault was that neither of them retrieved very well. They had both been FF, and did retrieve, but not without a lot of "coaxing". The scenting conditions (breeze or lack of breeze) definitely helped some dogs and hurt others, but the dogs that Placed, would have done so regardless of conditions. .

Doc E and Cujo Casey boy.
