I figured for sure 2BD would have his PDA or blackbeery along and we would be getting updates throughout the day.

Check out the post "Some results for Colorado". The results for CPR Flight B and Advanced are posted. Master and CPR A were still going when I left at about 5:00.

As Kevin said - WIND, WIND and more WIND. Altogether, it was VERY unpleasant weather and very COLD at times. On the plus side, even though we had about an hour of sleet coming down, the birds were flying well, and dogs were able to find them quite well in the upland field.

Annecdotally, there was one dog in the Advanced group who had such good scenting skills that it was difficult to evaluate any sort of search... This dog got out there, ran a few steps, caught some scent moved slowly to ensure that was correct, then locked up on point. This dog was probably one of the more interesting young dogs I have ever judged in the upland field. The dog was the last to run so there was a ton of bird scent out there. I had jokingly said to the handler, "Hey 'so and so', 4 points and out would be great!" It wasn't a joke; that is just what the dog did.

We saw some very nice prospects, some dogs that will be good hunters and some that need to go home and do some more training.

It was good test and we got lunch (mine prepared gluten free and I did not get sick!), which coincided with a wait for dogs from other stakes. However, I did not thaw out until I got into bed last night.
