I am looking for some help finding a quality pointing lab breeder in my area of western N.Y. I am not far from pa. and ohio. I know of breeders I read about on the forum such as tiger mountain,Top dog kennels, Bearpoint and others. Am I better off getting a pup from one of these breeders or are there some closer to me. I am looking for a hunting dog , pheasant and duck not to run in hunt tests. I am willing to drive to midwest. Thanks

Id take your time and not limit yourself geographically. It may be tough to not pick your pup in person, but if you really like a litter based on temperment, point, drive, etc, the cost to fly a pup isnt too bad. If possible, I would go see the breeding pair and how they work on birds, blinds and marks. Not always possible, but if you are really lucky catching them at an APLA test would be ideal.

I narrowed my prospective litters down to two different breeders. I ended up going with the one that was closer because I really wanted to see them several times in the selection process. I waited almost a year to get my pup, but am gald I did. I know you get the puppy fever, but Id be patient and make sure you optimize your chances to get the kind of dog you want. You are going to have him/her for a long time. Good Luck.

I possibly will be having a litter out of my female from pointing lines. Her sire is CP Radar's Doc's Gone Huntin' (GMPR Augies Cactus Jack, SH). She will be a titled JH and bred to a male that is JH titled doing Senior work. The male does mostly waterfowl hunting, but has hunted pheasants occasionally. Go to my website for more details and pictures of them. www.denneylabs.4t.com

I have a litter coming in May. Take a look at my classified ad. The yellow dog pointing the chucker is out of Trixie. The dog lives in New York. snofunlabs@aol.com John owns him. Thanks Wendy
