I am looking to purchase a Pointing Lab this Spring or Summer. I'll use "her" hunting wild Pheasant in Kansas and Dove hunting in Texas. Is there a kennel and trainer that anyone can recommend, or has experience with?

I got Casey from Black Forest Kennels. Great kennel, great dogs, great people.
Casey's website is at www.pointinglabcasey.itgo.com and Black Forest is at www.pointinglabrador.com .

I have a Yellow (Lucky) out of Tiger Mountain that I have been very happy with. I have also heard really great things about Black Forest as Doc E suggested.
As far as a trainer goes...
Thank You Julie, I Could not have done it without her knowledge and help.

There are a lot of good breeders out there.  Some are large and have many litters a year and some only have one or two a year.  Some of the one or two litter a year breeders come up with some quality pairings and might even use stud dogs from some of the larger Kennels.  They have great pups to offer as well so dont discount them just because they are small.  Take some time and review our Breeders page and do your homework.  Make some phone calls and see what is out there.  Check for APLA titles in the backgrounds.  This will be a decison you will be living with for the next 15 years.
(no pressure)

Good luck to you!

Actually, some "small time" breeders do produce some great dogs. In fact, Casey has a girlfriend with him as we speak (repeat breeding). 9 of 9 of the pups point. She is going back home tomorrow -- then another girlfriend later this week (first time breeding) -- then another lady will come to see him in March.

But because none of these dogs has any APLA titles (even though they are great pointing dogs (except for the girlfriend coming  in March,,,,she doesn't point) the litters can't be advertised on this site

Thanks to all that have replied. I have spoken with a couple of Breeders now, and have a few more that I will contact. One thing I've found is that everyone in the Pointing Lab community is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

A couple that you don't want to miss calling are John Greer with Tiger Mountain, LeRoy Robinson with Top Dog Kennels, and Deb at Santa Fe Pointing Labs.  These are all exceptional people that I have personally dealt with and would recommend them to anyone.
