Recent Michigan cold snap helped us out quite a bit this weekend. Normally we see mostly woodies and teal this early but the weather forced quite a few mallards down our way - even had a double-banded mallard. We made sure the shooter knew that this had to be the easiest shot in the world with the bird carrying all that hardware around. The attached pic was from the post-sunrise re-group. The brown boy had a lot of work in the swamp. Unfortunately resulting in quite a few cuts and a sprained tail. He is at home recouperating before we head to SD on Friday.
