I also hunt SW ND. Easier for me to get to from Colorado. Dickenson has birds.
AS DOHawk said, you do need to drive around and get to know the walk in areas. They have a great POS system where you can download to your GPS.
So as you drive around, you can see the huntng areas on the map, depending on your zoom level.

Probably won't be able to get up there before the season, so I will be coming in cold.
