This year many areas had nearly all the crop in the field for the first two weeks of season and the first month or more had all the corn in the field. Those facts mean some great late season hunting here in SD. There are good birds to be had on state and walk in land. The state considered extending the season and going to a five bird limit. SD rarely messes with the regs and while there are lots of birds it would take an act of congress (litterally) to make a change in the bag limit.
Be all you can be.

They voted down raising the limit to five

I have never been to SD to hunt but would like to go sometime...problem is this..
1. Where should I go?
2. What public land is available and is it worth the trip
Note: I just got back from NE Nebraska (1hr north of Fremont) and it was darn cold....snow drifts out the wazooo,,birds bunched-up...fun though...I had a great time!!! My 11 month old pup (Val) did AWESOME!!! She pointed all birds that didn't flush out in front of us...held point great w/o being whoa'd...she impressed the guys I was with....I guess I shouldn't have doubted her!!!! I am really learning to trust her!!!
