You think this technique will work in the public areas along the S. Platte?
You got my interest up....

I don't know why it wouldn't Vic. There's turkeys all up and down the Platte as well as some of the other river bottoms on the plains.
Put in for a spring tag to get a point and then again for the fall with your point to draw.

Vic, When we were in South Dakota our dogs were pointing Turkeys in a tree row , It was a blast watching them get up and fly.
I can see the rush you are talking about Randy.....sounds fun.

Had some luck this weekend. I had to go back to the place I got skunked last weekend because I knew they were there!
And they were....

Wish I could get up after the blues Vic, they are an awesome game bird!!
Are they starting to move up the mtn yet? What elevation are you finding them at?

Hey Randy, yes they are moving up.
Elevations vary depending on area but they are now in the lower reaches of the darker timber 1/2 way up he mtn at about 9000 to 9500 feet.
Mainly feeding on berries and plants now (bugs are gone).

Try by Sheriff Lake and Chapman Lake (Think that's the name.) We saw a ton up there. Elk is done here soon and the woods should be all yours.
