Hunting was good. Lots of birds and good times. We did have a few incidents with barbed wire. Zoie has a pretty good scar on her face and a few others needed stiches. Good times!!

Steve, the hunting was good, The public areas are getting hit very hard in that area, they are having a hard time getting the combines in the fields to get the crops out, Rosco had 15 staples in him, Buffy had 10 staples, and Molly had 8 stitches when she got back.  I played Doctor Dolittle with my Stapler, (which you all should have in your bag) boy it came in handy... The birds were runnin Jake would Point then break it then point again, sometimes up to 4 times on a Rooster, He was tracking them up wind ,down wind it didnt matter, He was awesome in the field,  he had bloody toes and nose at the end but his paws held up nice with the zinc.. That grass gets them pretty good.  Satin worked the birds really good too. Allie was a little rocket. the bad thing is when she gets on a bird she gets low and is hard to see in the weeds

Some birds held and we got some good shots and some worked out of range and flew but that is hunting, you win some and lose some..and then there are the ones were Jake points 2 roosters about 12 inches apart from each other, I kick them up and shoot twice and dont even pull a feather  what a blast it was......
Sometimes Jake and I or Satin and I would track a Rooster a couple of hundred yards before we would get a shot.

If it works for you guys, you should all come back after the crops are out. There are a lot of birds running around. I went out scouting for deer this morning after I got done duck hunting. We saw 30 or 40 pheasants in the 10 mile loop I took driving around the area. I had Gator along from out duck hunting. So I stopped to let him work the birds that stayed in the brush in the ditches. He gave me some looks ..like,"why the heck arent you shooting!?!?" when the birds would fly...lol. Season doesnt open until 10 AM and it was only 8:30. But he was having fun, and so was I just watching him.
