Took the dog out goose hunting for his very first time to be in the decoys. He did pretty good after learning the person calling is to big to retrive. Also shot a really rare bird for us in the central flyway, or atleast this part of it. I'm sure someone probablly shoots them all the time but for the group I was with this is only the third one any of us knew about in a combined 40+ years of goose hunting. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is a Brant more common to coastal flyways.

If you want to shoot brant, come to New Jersey, we have all you want. They are not the best table fare, but harvested at the proper time of year and cooked properly they can be quite good to eat. Brant in Jersey fly in large groups and will decoy to almost anything for a while. Once they get shot around they just land in the open water in large groups and wait for the tide to drop, then they come in to eat.
