Later after getting my 1st ever Prairie Chicken I attempted to get a pic of Chief holding it! Well that little stinker just would not cooperate , he woiuld look away and seemd just plain wired so I got to thinking what the hey and proceeded to load him back up in the kennel (with agrrevation on my behalf apparent) and low and behold I had sat the little stinker down right in a nest of sand burrs! And I mean big time!! They were stuck on his butt and on his jewels and up and down the back of his legs and tail and in his pads! Man I felt bad and got pretty torn up myself just pulling them out. So later when we got home I pulled up a chair so he could watch the cleaning of the birds-A ritual that used to belong to the old man, but I think the youngster earned it. But then-true to form when I was done and had turned my back the little $hIt grabbed a breast out of the bowl! Oh my little stinker.
