Kevin- Good luck on the hunt. My Ks Youth hunt had materialized so I will not be coming along. Instead will be getting a youngster out for hi 1st wild bird hunt this weekend during the special ks youth season. Last spring I had the same father/son duo out on their 1st preserve hunt-now it is time for the real thing.

Well we will be leaving in about 24 hours and I am officially brain dead, I doubt I will work tomorrow (too excited) I am petting my gun and having a good talk with it I know my dogs are excited, when they see me pull my suitcase out and put my hunting pants and shirts in it they know something good is about to happen!!

Which dogs are you taking Kevin?

I am taking the flushers! Rosco He can trail a downed bird like no other, even if birds are flying out beside him he keeps on that bird, Jedi and Chelsea and I am thinking hard on bringing Star! Jake is still healing and Satin is going to have pups, tessa is starting hold and Allie is in Force to pile!

There's a way to avod that Kevin. Always have your bag packed. I have two that are always packed, one for fishing and one for hunting. When I get home from a trip, I wash the cloths, repack and put the bag back in the truck.

WERE BACK!!Pics are coming. What a trip! Ya get to know some new guys and shot some birds in the process. We seen a ton of Roosters and some great dog work. Then the bad My house spang a leak when i was gone and had a few thousand gallons of water in my basement.

OMG!!! Same thing happened to me once, but at least I was in town and was able to shut the water off before too much damage was done! Sorry to hear about that, it must put quite a damper on such a good trip!

Rob, i was here, if i would have went with Kevin we would have had a major mess! I stayed home with 4 of our dogs and the horses. I was down there on Monday afternoon cleaning and heard nothing, took the dogs on a walk about 3 hours later and saw the water leak, immediatly shut the water off, i did not go downstairs until Tuesday morning to feed the cat and found the damage! Our insurance agent had someone here an hour after i found it pumping the water out! I am now working on the pictures Kevin took of the hunting trip and will have them on here sometime today, Barbara

Here are a few pics,here is Tom and Molly, Robert and Buffy, Pete and Mesa and Jere and Jazz (1st pic) We had some good weather except for one day when the wind was blowing faster then the temperature. The wind was a good thing as it held the birds, and we got some great flushes and some fantastic points, including one were the bird flushed right behind my back leg, with the wings hitting my right leg, almost stepped on it!Pete and robert were new to the trip, and were alot of fun to get to know, Jere and my buddy Tom went last year, but are alot of fun to hunt with, The roosters were everywere you would see them all the way there and all the way back to the motel, The dogs are getting back to normal after sleeping for about 18 hours, They hunted hard and never quit even with the cuts on there feet and between there feet, and cuts on there noses, and all that time in the field, what a trip!

Hey Kevin how could you have trouble with remembering Mesa! Both her and myself had a fantastic time...good birds, good weather and good friends. We are getting rested up and heading to KS tonight for the opener on Saturday. If you get a chance can you send me a copy of the pics to wattworkspeter@aol.com

If I remember right Mesa was the the only Dog/Person that had legs left after 4 long days of hunting...

My god it looks like I missed out on some great hunting! I have been so busy with scholl that I just can't even think about hunting. Zoie has been very upset and wanting to get out. I hope to make next years trip with you all. Sorry to hear about your house Kevin. I will let you all know if I can get out theis year but things are not looking likely.
