Hello everyone. I just brought home my 7 week old PL pup on wednesday. So far he is doing great with house training. I work an hour from home and am going to take my pup to work with me. By doing this will it cause any set backs with his house training? What can I do to make this easiest on the pup? |

First of all congrats on your new puppy!!!!
Training a puppy is all about repitition, the best way i have found is creating a habit with your pup, when he wakes up (outside) after he eats (outside) over and over, If he is at work with you same thing, if he is in a crate with you same thing....every couple of hours outside,,, |

I agree with the repitition, it will change at work but give him a routine there also. Have fun with the pup. |

I have a new pup that I take to work with me. He is doing great. I know that if he wakes up from a nap, he has to go. Within 10 mins of eating, he has to go out. I have had him 3 days and he is already going to the back door, crying to go out. He is getting used to being in the crate. He cryes but that is getting shorter before he gives up and takes a nap. Hope you have good luck with your pup. |

I took him with me today, every thing went good, pretty uneventful except for the ride up there. I was headed up the highway with my co pilot Zeke in the right seat, we were both ready for the day, his crate was tied onto the flatbed, plenty of toys in the crate, and plenty of food and water for the day. We were halfway into our 1 hour drive when a car pulled up beside us blowing it's horn. A lady in the passenger seat rolled down her window, frantically pointed and yelled "Fire"! As I turned, giving her the "what the hell are you talking about" look, I seen the flames! Zeke's crate was burning like crazy. Before it was all said and done I was trying to stomp out fire on the crate and it's contents and the grass that had starting burning. I finally got the situation under control and realized that the cigar I had smoked earlier was definately the cause. A new $60 crate and $20 in new toys made that the most expensive cigar I have ever had! Thankfully the rest of the day went well!
