Another outfit now testing pointing Labs. This time to nearly the same standard as other pointing dogs. http://www.continentalkennelclub.com/eventruleslist.aspx Jere

ROTFLMAO... Short answer - the internet..

Seriously, I was looking for published literature available on the net that might deal with identification of "genes" related to pointing behavior in dogs. I was searching using google.com I don't remember what search terms brought that site up, but there it is.

Do the rules look that laughable?

You know, I find that interesting and disturbing at the same time. Obviously, someone is paying some attention to PLs. If I remember correctly, the Continental Kennel Club is a group that sends their registration papers home with pet store pups....

The thread cited is new "stuff" about an old topic. It's never too late for perspectives.

Plus I posted up about this topic on the other forum. At least, on this forum there were more responses.

Ecit: Here's a link that started March 23rd.

When I read in the rules of the CKC that water work could be carried out in a plastic play pool I was amazed at the utter inginuity of those folks. So fantastically innovative. They'll revolutionize the retriever world. Now anyone with a back yard can develop a CFCh. Think how easy it will be to arrange a collection of plastic play pools into configurations simulating the best technical water of the best pro retriever trainers in the country.
