My work as a professional photographer, writer and hunter takes me all over the world. Recently I was in MO videotaping some preseason scouting footage for an upcoming bowhunt for Bowhunter Magazine TV show. At the same time I got an assignment to write an article for Retriever Journal about pro dog trainers. So, I called John and Mike at K and L Kennels since I was so close to them when the assignment came in. These guys were extremely helpful for my article and we soon became good friends. After spending several days with these guys, I can tell you they are very humble, down-to-earth guys who really know what they are doing when it comes to pointing labs. I'm not saying this because of what they said but more on how their dogs performed! I watched about 20 different dogs of varying talent levels and at very different stages of training. John and Mike took the good with the bad and gave their best effort with each dog. These guys were up early and training late every day. I was most impressed with their whoa training and the way their dogs held their point. K and L Kennels had their young dogs holding point like my seven-year-old veteran! I feel very fortunate to have met these fine people and great ambassadors to our beloved pointing labs. If you ever need a pro trainer for your PL, please consider John and Mike. I learned more about PLs in a few days with these guys than I'd learned in seven years of owning pointing labs. Lucky me!
