When you go to an AKC hunt test with 3 PLs and you go 3 for 3 in MH passes you feel like you won the lottery. This is how I feel at this weekends Tulsa Retriever Club AKC hunt test. But, we had "a hunt test first" with a live flyer diversion bird shot on the way to the land blind. It rated very high in handler pucker power even with great steady-to-wing-and-shot GMPRs.
4xGMPR HRCH Raider's Jumpin Jack Flash MH MN HoF did his standard outstanding performance attaining his 44th MH pass. Not to bad for a 10 year old dog headed back to the AKC Master National.
4xGMPR HRCH Cypress Creek Harley Ms Mac MH MNH performed her outstanding marking ability and lining 2 of her 3 blinds. This gives her 33 career MH passes and she is also now qualified for 2010 Master National.
1.5xGMPR Jack's Bin Der Dun Dat SH turned the best performance of the 3 dogs with the achievement of his 3rd MH pass.
Yes, I feel like "I won the lottery with my dogs". |

That is awsome Larry. Especially to Bin the "newbie" handling it that well. Micahd - It is just as cool. Any time you roll into a double and come home with two ribbons, it is a very good weekend :-) Good to see "pointy" dogs smacking the retriever stuff.

Jason, If running hunt tests with your dog doesn't give you the jitters, the nerves, or get your adrenalin going then find another hobby. But, it sure does feel good when you pass a test with your dog doesn't it? Larry |

Hello Larry.... that's what I would call outstanding dog work and outstanding handler performance. I can only guess how proud you are and should be of those accomplishments. I can only dream of numbers like that..as I am stepping up to the line for my first master level test in NAHRA this coming weekend. It is with a son of Goose Creeks Holy Smoke....I hope we can do him proud. Congrats to all and their passes...ribbons...and titles! Scott Kemble |

ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND, JUNE 5 & 6, AT NORTHERN FLIGHT RETRIEVER CLUB, MARINE ON ST. CROIX, MN, with all dogs again going 3 for 3 at at AKC Master Hunt Test.
I ran 4xGMPR HRCH Raider's Jumpin Jack Flash MH MN HoF for his 45th MH pass. Like a fine wine getting better with time.
4xGMPR HRCH Cypress Creek Harley Ms Mac MH MNH got her 34th MH pass.
1.5xGMPR Jack's Bin Der Dun Dat SH had got 4th MH pass. Without a doubt he is the most improved dog, since running this spring's MPR tests.

There has been quite a number of PL's runing NAHRA this spring. the weekend Scott was talking about had seven APLA titled dogs running senior (master equiv), two others that point but have not run APLA. This past weekend, there were several again about half the field, and I convinced one of the guys that has not run APLA to give it a go this fall. He has a very nice yellow female that I would love to see more of. |
