Hello Stu,I am real saddened to hear about the loss of your home. I have been layed off for six mnths now and financially I am able to keep the lights on , water flowing, and the house warm and thats about it. For anyone else goinghru this crap right now I hate to hear it. DId not get the chance to take the dogs out once this last fall becasue of the $$$ crunch. It was kind of tough because its the one thing I really look forward to all year.......... just keep hoping things will pick back up so I can start working towards my journeymans card again............

I think this is a great idea.  As I see names  that I have read and ideas that I have supported, it becomes all too clear that we are a family, even if we don't know each other by face. Keeping pointing labs with people who believe in them is important to our future as an organization.

This thread is not for Stu. It is about lots of folks have a ruff time.  If we can help someone with something they would like to get rid of for some cash, or even some contact for a job, then I am for that. We are not trying to make him feel bad.

I think you should go back to Julies initial post and make your decisions/vote based on that......My two cents, and it ain't worth what it used to be worth. I say STICKY.
I think this is supposed to be about finding ways to help others(plural) in times of need.

Stu is going through some hard times and doesnt want to be reminded of it. Why not just start a new stick thread as there doesnt appear to be but one or two posts that would need to be duplicated, the 870, the t shirt s etc.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am aware of a number of stories with dog folks going through some tough times with either life situations or the economy.  I wonder if it might be of some value to have a thread or a spot on this website for people to post dogs they may need to place or equipment they might like to sell (or buy if available).  There might be all kinds of ways to help someone who needs it, maybe there are way better ideas than I have posted here.  Even job type stuff. Any thoughts on ways to help?  Seems like a pretty rough time all over the place - be cool to do something to help.  No judgments, no lectures, just help.

Julie

I do not see Stu's name it this post. Am I not seeing something?

Ive got a Dogtra Remote Release of someone if someone is looking for one. Like new this is the new style, but not the deluxe so it has the beep and not the duck call. $175 for the remote, release and charger including shipping. I bought it from a guy who said he didnt use it more than one or two times and was on tough times.  I only bought because he had a dogtra pheasant box, which Im keeping. Selling for what I have in the release. Thanks.

Times are tough here too. I need to sell a yellow female lab. "Star" who I was doing longterm planning with. I have been planning on getting back into breeding PL's, and using "Star" to continue my PL line. She was going to take over as my foundation bitch. She has not been breed, was born Jan. 06. She is OFA excellent with elbows.

One thing I've tried to do is to get to a point where all dogs on pedigree had at least a OFA rating. I wanted the 4 generation pedigree to show parents, grandparents,great-grandparents with OFA Good or Excellent. Accomplished that when I did a AI breeding of my Pepper from LimeCreek, to FC Rebel With a Cause. This bitch is out of one of the yellow females from that breeding.

So that part of plan came thru, but health issues have kept me from doing any advanced training. Anyone who has done more than obedience knows how labor intensive dog training can be. So "Star" has obedience training, but hasn't been hunted, or tested. I would guess she would pass any started level test with just a week or two of longer retrieves, She has a great water entry, like her grandmother "Pepper". She flash points, but I haven't put any birds in front of her. She basically has been a family dog with great genetics, and with some training, bird work, no limit to what level you'd want to train to.

I will sell to best offer. email inquires only please. jkmckone@aol.com

SOLD....7/31/09 22:00. Thank You!

Stu, if you are looking for a job, check out the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Website. I have worked here for 23 years and never missed a paycheck. They have gas company jobs, and a new 30 million dollar casino with jobs that are posted on the Sky Ute Casino Website. 401 K and all other benefits are still going strong. Upland game is pretty far away but mule and elk hunting are primo.
